David's RV-10 Build

Just another RV-10 builders log

Week Ending 8/2/26

So I still haven’t received any of the parts that I had ordered a couple weeks ago. So I didn’t really get to do much this week. I’m kind of frustrated by that but there’s not much I can do about it. I ended up finishing the proper rivets on the right side aileron control bracket in the meantime.I ended up using my rivet gun and a punch to help drive out the rivets. That made my life a million times easier.

Since I was kind of basically at a pause, I ended up working on some organizational stuff. I made some 3D printed wall hanging brackets using the Opengrid system and tested those out and those worked out pretty good. I also made a jig to hold my Pitot tube so that I can easily drill the holes to hold the Pitot into it.I don’t need to order some shorter 632 screws to get the Pitot to stay into the mast.

Last thing I ended up doing this week was just pulling all the parts for the aileron actuation system and getting that ready so that I can at least get it put in there and see how it all fits. I can make sure that where I put the Pitot controller is not going to interfere with anything. I had the privilege of discovering that the plans call out for a part titled WD-1014C but that part does not actually exist as a part you need to make. The plans do not reference that. It turns out that it’s a piece of 7/8″ pipe that is approximately 22 inches long.

Also I discovered that my Clickbond fasteners got delayed another three weeks. They were supposed to ship on Friday and now it says that they’re gonna be shipping on the 21st.
